June 26th - Colorado!

June 26th is another big day for primaries, the last big one for a while! On the 26th we have Colorado, Maryland, Oklahoma, Utah, and the BIG kahuna New York. We also have the first big round of runoffs with Mississippi and South Carolina. So let's start today with Colorado!

First up, Governor! The very popular John Hickenlooper is term-limited (and being talked about for 2020) so lots of Dems have lined up to replace him. Cary Kennedy is the Emily's List endorsed candidate. There are also active primaries for State Treasurer and Attorney General.

On to the House races!

D2 (Boulder and Fort Collins): This Dem seat is open due to Jared Polis running for governor, two gentlemen are running for it and either would be a good choice. THIS IS THE GENERAL since its a safe seat.

D3 (Pueblo and the western half of the state): Emily's List has endorsed Diane Mitsch Bush to try and flip this seat.

D6 (Colorado Springs and area to the west): Two gentlemen are running to flip this seat as well, and again either is a fine choice. Jason Crow seems to have most of the endorsements while Levi Tillemann is highlighting his strong progressive views.

At the state government level, Republicans have a very narrow majority in the Senate, and Democrats are eager to win it back in this increasingly blue state. 17 seats are up and 10 of them are Republican controlled. There are active primaries in only three districts:

SD2 (Woodland Park and CO Springs suburbs, Canon City): A seat Dems hope to flip, its Beth Harz, a small business owner vs Dennis Obduskey, Chair of the Park County Democratic Party.

SD32 (Denver): An open Dem-held seat, Hazel Gibson is the Emily's List endorsed candidate

SD34 (Denver): Another open Dem-held seat, Julie Gonzales is the Emily's List endorsed candidate.

In the House, Dems have a majority but need to fight to keep it. All 65 seats are up and there are several contested primaries.

HD4(Denver): 3 Dems running for this Dem-held open seat

HD5 (Denver): Emily's List has endorsed Meghan Nutting to hold this Dem open seat.

HD9 (Denver): 2 women are running for this Dem-held open seat.

HD18 (Colorado Springs): 2 Dems are running for this Dem-held open seat.

HD24 (Arvada Denver area): Monica Duran is the Emily's List endorsed candidate in this race.

HD28 (Lakewood): 2 Dems running for this Dem-held open seat.

HD34 (Northglenn Denver area): 2 Dems are running to try and unseat the Republican incumbent.

HD45 (Castle Pines Denver area): 2 Dems are running to try and unseat the Republican incumbent.

HD50 (Greeley): Rochelle Galindo is the Emily's List endorsed candidate.

There are some municipal elections in Adams, Arapahoe, and El Paso counties but no major primaries.

Make sure all your CO friends and family are ready for Tuesday! #beavoter
